IAS Officer Rajesh Kumar Ogrey Takes Charge as Mauganj Collector, Reviews Administrative Arrangements

Bhopal/Mauganj: October 16, 2026
Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Rajesh Kumar Ogrey has assumed charge as the Collector of Mauganj district following the recent administrative reshuffle in Madhya Pradesh. The state government assigned him the responsibility through its transfer orders issued on October 13, 2026. Before his new posting, Ogrey was serving as Additional Secretary in the Commercial Tax Department of the Madhya Pradesh government.
After assuming charge, Ogrey interacted with district administration officials and sought information about the district’s administrative arrangements and the functioning of various departments. Additional Collector P. K. Pandey, Superintendent of Police Surendra Kumar Jain, Additional Superintendent of Police Shashikant Saryam and other administrative officials were present on the occasion.
2012-Batch bold IAS Officer
Rajesh Kumar Ogrey belongs to the 2012 batch of the Madhya Pradesh cadre of the IAS. His appointment as Mauganj Collector is part of a wider administrative reshuffle undertaken by the state government, involving changes in the postings and responsibilities of officers across various departments and districts.
Having served as Additional Secretary in the Commercial Tax Department, Ogrey will now lead the district administration. His responsibilities as Collector will include overseeing administrative operations, coordinating the work of different government departments, monitoring revenue-related matters and reviewing the implementation of government schemes.
Focus on District Administration and Public Services
As a relatively new district, Mauganj faces the continuing task of strengthening its administrative infrastructure, improving coordination among government departments and ensuring the timely delivery of public services.
Ogrey will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the district administration, facilitating coordination among officials and overseeing matters related to public grievances and development programmes. These are expected areas of focus based on the general responsibilities of a district Collector and the needs of the district; they should not be interpreted as an officially announced action plan by Ogrey.
His assumption of charge marks the beginning of a new administrative phase for Mauganj. His performance will be assessed over time through administrative decisions, the resolution of public grievances and the implementation of development and welfare schemes.
